В жизни часто приходится слышать неугодные нам речи и заниматься делами, которые доставляют неудовольствие. Но только так мы найдем оселок, на котором отточится наша добродетель. А если слушать лишь то, что угодно слышать, и думать лишь о том, о чем приятно думать, то всю жизнь проживешь, словно одурманенный ядовитым зельем.

Смотрите Евровидение? За кого болеете? Я пару часов назад досмотрела второй отборочный полуфинал, осталась под впечатлением от Швеции. Необычное выступление! Танцы ассоциировались у меня моментами с театром кабуки. Особенно это впечатление подкрепил посыпавшийся снег.
Интересно какое место достанется России? Букмекеры ставят на второе.

Freak the Mighty
A faith like a guillotine, as heavy, as light.
Because later, when we're down by the pond and the first of the rockets is streaking up, up, up, Freak is making a fuss bacause he can't see. There are so many people crowded around, all he can see are feet and knees, and people are lifting their little kids up to see the fireworks explode like hot pink flowers in the sky, and so I just sort of reach down, without thinking and pick up Freak and set him on my shoulders.
